This place used to be really good, but unfortunately that’s no longer the case.
We had tried two other vets before finding them, and we were so happy when they were able to get us in last minute. They were great with our dog, who is a Cane Corso and very reserved. We are her third owner, and she wasn’t treated well before, so having a vet that handled her with care meant a lot to us.
Our dog has seasonal skin allergies that flare up in the spring and summer. Fall and winter she’s fine. She’s on a proper diet to help with the allergies. During the warmer months she gets her Cytopoint injections to manage the itching. Right now she’s starting to itch again, so I’m trying to be proactive and get her shot before it turns into something worse, like the ear infections that she’s prone to.
When I called to schedule a simple vet tech appointment for her Cytopoint injection, I was told she now needs a full exam to “make sure she doesn’t have any infections.” This was frustrating because she doesn’t currently have any that’s exactly what I’m trying to prevent. She was also seen just 8 months ago, and I keep up with her yearly exams unless there’s an issue.
The full exam is $110, and her Cytopoint injection already costs between $175–$200 due to her weight (she’s 80 lbs). It feels unnecessary because there’s nothing currently wrong and honestly like price gouging, especially since they are familiar with her history and seasonal condition.
On top of that, the wait times have become unacceptable. Every visit now involves waiting 45 minutes to over an hour. My dog requires calming medication before appointments, which only lasts about two hours. By the time we’re finally seen, it’s wearing off and she becomes anxious and overwhelmed.
We’ve also had issues with communication regarding our cat. She has asthma and FIV and has a rescue an inhaler. I wanted to get nebulizer medication so I can do that once daily or as needed (I already have the chamber for her) and simply needed the vet to approve the prescription through Chewy. I called and was told I’d get a callback, no call. I followed up a couple of days later and was told they had called me, which they hadn’t. I was told again they’d leave a message for the vet, still no response. After calling again because my cat actually needs this medication, I was told once more they would follow up, but I never received a call back.
The lack of communication is extremely frustrating. It shouldn’t take multiple calls and days of waiting for a simple yes or no on a prescription, especially when it involves a pet that needs care.
I work in healthcare, so I understand things get busy, but I’m the voice for my pets, and their needs are not being met anymore. Between the pricing, poor communication, and long wait times, this has become very unprofessional and disappointing.
We will not be returning.
Dr Boden is the best at what she does she has the right mindset and heart. This is a place where you can trust a decision made, definitely with forethought in mind. Dr Boden operated on my Jack Russel terrier over ten years ago, he lived a long life thankfully to her. Now she sees my 6 dogs lol.😂🤣. The reception staff and techs are great. Always pleasant!
