This is a review I should have written awhile ago but I was debating just sending the owner a letter. I find this vet practice to be very cold when dealing with pets. At the time i used their services I had a cat and 2 German Shepherd Dogs. Neither dog has ever been an issue with any person. Never growled at a vet or even attempted to hurt someone. Immediately upon entering the room the Vet requested my dogs be muzzled. Something which they never had done prior. This was immediate. They spent no time interacting with the dogs other then the actual exam. In my experience they at least approach the dog with a pat on the head or something initially. I continued to go here and asked not to have the specific vet that muzzled them. My boy now has even more anxiety going to the vet. I decided to write this after reading the medical history of my boy which stated a full exam was incomplete and he was muzzled due to the dog being difficult. My dogs at no time were difficult because the muzzle was put on as soon as the vet came in. I assume he was scared of GSDs in general which makes me question his choice of career. Another visit my girl had swelling to her face near her jaw. They muzzled her and never checked inside her mouth! They removed my girl from my view on a visit for no reason what so ever (exam visit) and asked again on another visit. I declined the 2nd time. Another visit- my girl had a lump on her side so after getting a quote decided to have it tested. Upon paying the price was an additional $90. I asked to finish paying the following payday since they misquoted. (this was after being ignored when i said the price was wrong). I was told to bring her back when i had the money. I was not putting her through that again and asked to talk to the owner since noone else had authority to make a decision. I think it took over 2 weeks to get ahold of him while playing phone tag. The sample never went to the lab. I would have waited on the test had they quoted correctly to begin with. I even asked about 4 times if it was right because it seemed cheaper then i expected. Around June (give or take a month or 2) 2025 I had to get my Cat's thyroid tested (he was over active). I figured they couldn't mess up a blood draw so I didn't request not to have the doctor i mentioned above. Before the appt my cat's belly seemed to be bloated so unfortunately i went to the above dr and he said it wasn't. 2 weeks later we were back with a severely swollen belly that required draining at Redbank animal hospital. It was an emergency but only had to go to Redbank because none of the doctors in Hammonton felt comfortable doing the procedure. I don't care about the money I spent but Redbank even though the vet was incredible rude gave me another month with my boy. I don't know if the swollen belly was caught the 1st time i asked about it if he would have had a better outcome or not but i wish the doc got that one right. My boy passed away August 2025. I am not blaming the doctor for him passing. He was old but overall healthy up until that point. In addition he was diagnosed with heart failure which insurance declined to cover any the cost because there was one blurb in one of his files from this practice that said he had a heart murmur with no further explanation other the I refused any further medical exam. This was not the case. The vet said it was most likely due to his over active thyroid and having him on meds could correct it. The Office staff was friendly but also very dismissive of my pets. It's almost as if they are told not to interact with the animals at all unless they are examining them. Strange to me. Any way thats my experience with this vet. Needless to say I've moved on to another vet I really like and that is great with my dogs....they also have never needed to or asked to muzzle either of them.

The staff here is so nice and caring. I recently brought my dog here for a teeth cleaning and they took such great care of her. I am not someone who often brings their dog to the vet yearly like we do as humans and it is nice to not feel judged for not having done so.

Yesterday I called at 8am as my 15 1/2 yrs old dog & 16 yr old cat were very sick & knew it was time to let them go & be free of pain! They said come in at 10:30am. Dr C & all the staff were so compassionate & caring for our animals & to me & my husband. Dr C examined them & agreed it was time to cross rainbow bridge. They were both very old & it was breaking our heart! They were so nice, patient & caring! We stayed with them & the procedure was so gentle & it was like they just went to sleep peacefully! The cost was very reasonable & I highly recommend Animal Clinic of Hammonton for ALL your pets health care needs! THANK YOU SO MUCH TO ALL!
