Dr. Messina is one of the best veterinarians I’ve been to. I’ve had dogs my whole life and she is knowledgeable, compassionate and understanding. Dr. Messina helped me through a euthanasia which could’ve been so much worse but it wasn’t because of her and I’m thankful for that. I brought my other senior dog to her and Dr. Messina worked out a pain management program for him and it was a relief not to have to put him down. I can’t not mention Bill who has patience of a saint and is extremely personable. Dr. Messina and Bill are a great team. Definitely bringing my girl Penny to her as well!

Absolutely 5+ stars. What a wonderful veterinary practice. We recently had a wonderful first time visit to Livingston Veterinary Hospital. Our 11-year old cat Winnie is a very light eater and has been fluctuating in weight. Six months ago she had been diagnosed with IBS at our local vet in NW New Jersey after an ultrasound. They had suggested a repeat in six months. It was time for it to be performed again but their schedule was not matching up with ours. We chose Livingston Animal Hospital based on their positive reviews and we were not disappointed. It was a 45-60 minute ride for us but it was so worth it for the care and kindness she received. She had two appointments within a three day period. The first visit was for a blood draw and exam before the procedure because she would have to be sedated. As it turns out she had to be lightly sedated for the blood draw and exam. She can be a bit uncooperative at vet visits. From the first phone call my wife made to Livingston Animal Hospital she was impressed. Christine at the front desk was kind, accommodating, pleasant and helpful and explained everything. On the day of the first visit Vet Tech Bill guided us to the exam room and was so kind and extremely knowledgeable and had a gentle demeanor with Winnie. He took time with us getting Winnie’s information and asking us questions. We then met Dr. Messina who also was so nice. She also took so much time with us and answered all our questions, and was very patient and thorough. They then did light sedation on Winnie for the blood draw and a very comprehensive exam. After that Dr. Messina and Bill spent more time with us. The next morning Bill called to make sure Winnie was doing ok after the sedation and confirmed the scheduling for the ultrasound the next afternoon. The day of the ultrasound was seamless; everything went smoothly and on schedule. Bill even sent us home with his phone number in case we had any questions the following day as he and Dr. Messina were scheduled to be out of the office that day. We are now waiting for the results, and we hope all will be ok for our sweet Winnie. I just can’t say enough good things about the care and kindness we received from the staff at Livingston Animal Hospital. If you are looking for a vet, please give them a try. They are so kind and caring and took time with us and Winnie. Pricing is fair and comparable to what we have experienced at our local vet. I was truly very impressed with the staff and care! Thank you Dr. Messina, Bill and Christine!

I really can’t say enough to express how grateful I am to Livingston Animal Hospital. Bill is so knowledgeable, supportive and kind. Dr. Messina and Dr. Yim take excellent care of my cat and dog both in well visits and sick visits. It’s convenient to get an appointment and staff gets back to you promptly. I highly recommend this facility to any pet owner looking for the highest level of care and lots of empathy during a stressful time for your pet.
