I rarely leave reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience.
When my dog was in absolute dire need of medical attention, this veterinary clinic completely failed us. We brought him in scared and desperate as he could no longer walk with his hind legs, trusting that the professionals there would take his condition seriously. Instead, our concerns were dismissed, communication was poor, and there was no sense of urgency despite his worsening symptoms.
We were given vague explanations and minimal guidance, and I felt like we had to push for every bit of information. There was no clear plan, no proactive follow-up, and no compassion during one of the most terrifying moments of our lives. By the time we realized how serious things truly were, it was too late.
Our dog passed away shortly after. I can’t say with certainty that the outcome would have been different, but I do know we did not receive the level of care, attention, or urgency that any pet — or family — deserves.
Losing a pet is heartbreaking on its own. Feeling unheard and unsupported by the very people you turn to for help makes it even worse. I sincerely hope this clinic reevaluates how they handle emergency cases and how they communicate with worried pet owners, because no one should have to go through what we did.
To add insult to injury, we notified them our dog passed and never received a call from our longtime vet, Dr Ray. We did get a call from the office 2 weeks after his passing to confirm his upcoming appointment though. Unbelievable!
I wanted to edit my below review seeing as how I have now been taking my dogs to Hodes for 8 years. I recommend them to EVERY pet owner I know. Every single time I walk in, I’m greeted like I’m family. The women at the front desk are so much fun! Everyone, and I do actually mean EVERY SINGLE employee, goes WAY above and beyond and cares sooo much for every single animal in there, along with their owners. I have NEVER had any type of issue there, and all of my questions are answered immediately. My dogs are now seniors and we STILL use Dr. Kate who is nothing short of amazing. I feel like she truly cares for my dogs (I’m sure all of her patients feel this way) and I trust her and her opinions ENTIRELY. She is hands down the best vet I have ever taken my dogs to. She is kind, hard working, efficient, understanding. She isn’t pushy in any way, and she’s so, SO thorough during all exams. I feel so INCREDIBLY lucky to have her as my dogs’ vet, and Hodes is incredibly lucky to have her there. In fact, every vet we have ever seen at Hodes has been incredible. The establishment is kept immaculate and my dogs are always cared for with so much love when they are there. Seriously, best vet practice around. I wouldn’t recommend ANY vet practice that wasn’t Hodes.
Love it here. We switched from our old vet to come here about four years ago, and I am extremely happy. I have a really crazy dog who was abused and neglected, so getting him to the vet is not easy. Dr. Kate knows how to handle him, and there are no more crazy incidents. She is thorough in her exams, explains everything in detail, calls immediately with results of tests, is hard-working, caring, and efficient. I could not ask for a better vet for my dogs. The staff is extremely professional...it's like walking into my own doctor's office. Everything is always clean and everyone is always friendly. I wont bring my dogs to any other vet practice, and HIGHLY recommend Dr. Kate.
My 6 year old Tuxedo, Betty, would not eat. I was so concerned about her and received amazing care by Dr Kris. After two visits her issues were diagnosed and treated. Betty's back ro being a happy kitty, running around, playing and most importantly eating well. Thank you Dr Kris for taking such excellent care of my Betty and her Mom. The staff I came in contact with, either in person or on the phone, were very kind and understanding. I highly recommend Dr Kris and Hodes veterinary group.
Very nice staff and doctors
