Dr. Shiffman and the team at Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital are the real deal. Our corgi Ozzy has serious anxiety, and Dr. Shiffman doesn’t just rush through the visit. He stays, talks to Ozzy, answers all our questions, and genuinely connects with both of us. That patience makes all the difference for a nervous pup. He’s helped us find the right medication for Ozzy’s anxiety and keeps a close eye on his back after a surgery he had before we moved. The staff are just as amazing. As a dog mom with a pup who has big feelings, I love that they let me check out right in our exam room so we can avoid the busy front desk. Little touches like that show how much they care. We came on a friend’s recommendation after years of them trusting Oakhurst, and now we get it. If you want a vet who treats your dog like their own, this is it.

We honestly cannot say enough good things about this practice. This is now our third pet under their care and we trust them completely. What sets them apart is not just their medical expertise but the way they care for both animals and the people who love them. During Goose’s recent emergency health scare, their team was compassionate, calm, responsive, and incredibly thorough during one of the most frightening moments we’ve had as pet owners. We truly believe their care helped save his life. Every doctor, technician, and staff member we’ve encountered over the years has treated our pets like family. You never feel rushed, dismissed, or like “just another appointment.” They explain things clearly, they follow up and they genuinely care. In a world where people are often quicker to leave complaints than praise, we wanted to make sure we shared how deeply grateful we are for this team. We would recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone looking for exceptional veterinary care.

Dr. Rawlins at Oakhurst Vet is great. She really helps us take good care of our dog, Pluto. The Oakhurst Vet lodging is great, too. I always feel safe with her there. The office and pharmacy staff are super helpful, too.
