Had an appointment with the office cardiologist recently to clear my dog for surgery. Asked to be with my nervous rescue for her echocardiogram, denied, waited in room for results. She emerged and handed me a paragraph of information, I scanned it quickly and started to ask questions. She answered a few and abruptly got up , opened the door and shuttled us out. There was no one in the waiting room or in the entire office. She directed me to email the other questions I had. $960.00, for less than 20 minutes in the office, including exam, completely unacceptable. I have since taken my dog to another cardiologist and found my dog was dangerously misdiagnosed in your office by your cardiologist on staff. Your incompetence would have cost her her life .. fortunately I didn’t trust you.
..Part 2, rebuttal to owner’s comments below.
-I was absolutely denied access to the exam room. You were lied to by your staff. Additionally, I was told my dog urinated on herself during the exam because she was so frightened. Completely infuriating.
-I am disputing the accuracy of the results as found by another cardiologist. A highly accredited canine cardiologist had completely different results, my dog was dangerously misdiagnosed in your office by Megan king and would have died if I didn’t take her to another cardiologist immediately.
-I’m not at all confused about your email policy. I paid a considerable sum, almost $1000.00, to discuss results and have questions answered in your office by the examining vet… not to go home, attempt to remember concerns and email them later.
-If you welcome feedback and desire to have a better practice, or at the minimum have interest in why a client was not satisfied, I would have heard from you directly. Instead, you chose to publicly accuse a customer with a sick animal of dishonesty and being easily confused. THAT says much more than my honest and revealing review ever could.
I want to stress that VDS Chadds Ford, a different office, has been completely stellar. Dr. Lewis and his team were amazing, caring and compassionate during my dog’s challenging surgery.
We LOVE VDS. Dr King and her cardio nurse Chrissy are SO amazing. We also love their front desk staff!! They're ALL friendly, thorough, and they obviously really care about the animals they treat. Having cats with cardiac issues is really hard, and they make it much easier 💜
This review is long overdue, but I can’t express how appreciative and amazing Dr. Eroshin and his team are. In early fall, our recently adopted senior dog was diagnosed with oral melanoma. Getting urgent specialist appointments had been impossible, but VDS squeezed him in the day after our referral.
When Ernie was neutered in PR, his heart stopped twice under anesthesia. I was extremely paranoid about him going under, and they gave me realistic expectations of how they would handle things. I also mentioned he had a couple of teeth the rescue didn’t remove because of his anesthesia issues.
As soon as Ernie was under and assessed (he wouldn’t let them look in his mouth awake), Dr Eroshin called me with their game plan. Ernie’s surgery was taking longer than expected, but the staff would immediately text me back with updates. Surgery ended up being 4.5 hours. Ernie had his tumor, right lymph nodes, and 15 worn down teeth removed. Our appointment didn’t include his teeth, so it speaks volumes that Dr Eroshin spent an extra 1.5+ hours on an already last min surgery.
After the procedure, Ernie had delayed swelling. The team immediately text me back at 8pm on a Friday, and continually kept in touch with me over the weekend, until swelling went down.
I had to drive 2.5 hours and be there at 7:30am, and I would do it again in a second. Ernie couldn’t start any of his other treatments until his surgery healed. He’s now finished with chemo and doing so well. I attribute so much of his recovery to the immediate and compassionate care of Dr Eroshin and his team.
I was extremely nervous about putting my dog under anesthesia for several hours to undergo oral surgery to correct her underbite and the resulting hard palate damage. After visiting several veterinarians and dental specialists, I realized the procedure was necessary.
After consulting with Dr. Hunt, I felt reassured by her expertise and appreciated that this facility has board-certified specialists—including a surgeon, anesthesiologist, and cardiologist—monitoring my dog throughout the entire process.
I’m so glad I chose VDS and met Dr. Hunt. They truly made a difference. My dog came home doing well, quickly returned to her normal activities, and acted as if she had never undergone anesthesia.
It has now been six months since the surgery, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I highly recommend Dr. Hunt and her staff at VDS. The pricing is very reasonable considering the level of care provided, especially with three board-certified professionals involved.
Prior to visiting VDS, I had a consultation at Eclipse, Whippany NJ, and the difference in experience was night and day. I strongly recommend VDS and Dr. Hunt, who treats your dog as if it were her own.
Amazing communication- we felt comfortable having our dog here
